Marielle K. Scalici - Business Owner
Marielle grew up in Syracuse, NY and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University
. Originally an Information Technology major, Marielle won first place in the college wide Freshman Forum for her PowerPoint presentation on life growing up "Orange." That semester she maintained a 4.0 GPA and became a National Society of Collegiate Scholars
Working full-time while attending University, Marielle was promoted to her first management position at the age of 19. Her impeccable eye for detail and unsurpassed work ethic quickly moved her up the ranks. This position afforded her the opportunity to head a strategic task group sent across New York State to oversee the implementation of a new bar-coding system for big box retailer, Blockbuster. (R.I.P)
After working in the merchandising field for 5 years, Marielle took a summer internship position working as an Administrative Assistant for the Onondaga County Park system, where she worked directly alongside the parks Superintendent. Here she was able to utilize her background in Environmentalism by researching efforts to streamline the entire office environment, finding ways to be both cost effective and environmentally friendly.
Her first marketing position came shortly thereafter when she was hired by The Tai Shaw Team, a then Top Producing real estate team to do graphic design and all in-house marketing. Marielle spent a year branding and growing Mr. Shaw’s business until deciding to relocate to Houston, Texas.
Marielle started Mayday, Mayday! Marketing back in 2008. Her first contract was with a local upscale salon. After building their website, Marielle took on part-time IT and Administrative roles. She continued to build their online presence and was quickly snatched up by a start-up company where she designed and published her first magazine.
For the past 10 years Marielle has focused on social media marketing, advertising and corporate branding projects for a variety of local area businesses, including The Rick Martinez Team
In July 2011, Marielle took the position as Marketing Director for Park Place Financial
. Her job involved e-Marketing, print advertising, organizing client advocacy events, social media and internet marketing integration and much more. With her help, Park Place Financial was able to staff a permanent position and the business is thriving. Her background in IT has helped their office run smoothly and efficiently, and her design and branding skills helped keep their name on the top of people's lists.
As of 2017, Marielle works full-time but still takes on Design/Marketing projects as they come up. Thanks to Hurricane Harvey we are actively seeking new clients.
